It's amazing how many means I can find to avoid doing housework. Whilst I have a variety of finely honed techniques for doing just this up my sleeve, this morning has seen me trawling through a number of vintage photographs online with no real thought on how to use them except to appreciate the beauty and grace of the Edwardian era; a time when plastic surgery, our increasing fascination with size O, harsh make up and hair colours weren't the norm. In the process of doing so I was blown away by the wistful beauty of this image of an unnamed woman, now presumably long dead.

Finding and sharing this treasure with you was well worth the hour or so I should have spent loading up the dishwasher and shoving the hoover around the lounge I think...
She's Beautiful! I'll file her in my book of alter egos for the next time I fantasize about bygone eras.

so feminine and gracious. There's longing in her gesture too. Thanks for postponing your housework and sharing your finds.
ReplyDeleteI have a folder full of similar photos I might gradually add to my blogs - there's something so utterly enchanting about such images, it'd be wrong to keep them entirely to myself!
