Patrick Wolf singing a live cover version of Lana Del Ray's 'Born to Die' on the Dermot O'Leary radio show last week. I'm not a great fan of cover versions usually, but this, I love!
Hello Kit, thankyou for commenting on my blog, I am a very proud Mamma. Why have I never visited your blog before? it's lovely. I enjoyed your photos and just listened to the 2 tracks from First aid kit, which I really enjoyed. I was very interested in the post about the planes with Merlin engines. An elderly lady I cared for, had done her war work making parts for those engines.I felt quite choked remembering her again. I posted about her here http://railwaycottage.blogspot.co.uk/2011/02/precious-memories-of-lovely-lady.html Well I have signed on as a folower now. It was nice to meet you properly! Kath
Lovely to meet you too, Kath and thank you so much for your kind compliments!
I've been following your blog for a while now but tend to be a bit of a 'silent lurker' at times. Your tale of the little mouse rescue was too moving not to comment though!
I've just finished reading about Meg, how lovely to learn of another pilot 'dipping his wings' to the people below, and how wonderful that like me, Meg remembered it after so many years. It was interesting that she mentioned the Italian built prefabs as I used to walk through the remains of an old Italian Prisoner of War camp myself as a teenager going to school. My father told me that when he was growing up, the prisoners often made toys for all the local children - my mother still has a matchstick 'ship in a bottle' that one gave to her :-)
