I've just logged into Deviant Art to find one of my stock photos, has been awarded a DD (daily deviation). It was taken on a visit to Scotney Castle a couple of weeks back and I was continually having to dodge showers and an awful lot of tourists in order to take anything worth putting up in my stock account. The place was absolutely beautiful though with a moated deliberately ruined (by the Victorians) 14th century castle in the grounds of a stately home. It's this ruin that's attracted all the attention, helped in part I think, by some of the wonderful autumnal colours evident around it;
I'm aware that I'm not a particularly great photographer - I don't dabble with all the settings for example because I'm kind of scared of buggering my camera up - but I very much get a kick out of taking a photo, putting it up on Deviant Art for folks to use and manipulate, then seeing what they come up with. Invariably it's completely different to how I imagine the image might be interpreted!
Anyway, the DD has kind of made my morning and taken my mind off of some of the other stuff that's been happening lately, so it's all good from where I'm sitting!
