Tranquillity

Amidst all the pomp and circumstance of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations that have taken place over the last four days here in the UK, Ian and I took ourselves away from the madding crowd and disappeared off up to the Cotswolds for the day again on Saturday. The leaden skies made it difficult to take photographs of any interest; everything looks so much better in a little sunlight, but I did like this one, taken in the grounds of Lodge Park in Gloucestershire. If only life was always so tranquil!

  1. Doesn't that prove that a little thought, combined with a little taste, can create pure magic in a garden. Simple, simple, simple.

    1. Absolutely so. It was the simplicity which attracted me - nothing fancy, just someone with a little imagination working with, rather than against, the landscape. Fabulous!

  2. Is that bench ever inviting.
I visited the Cotswolds about eight years ago - it was tranquil beauty just about everywhere I looked.
    You've captured it here.

    1. Thank you, Lynn. We eventually ended up in Winchcombe, which is a wonderful place if you ever get a chance to come back this way. Unfortunately it was raining when we got there, so no photos, but I shall try to return there in the autumn when the weather is (hopefully!) a little more camera friendly and the summer crowds have dissipated a little.
