Blogger is really being a stroppy mare today, which I think, is why the comment's box appears to have disappeared off into the ether from the post I made previously this morning. My apologies to those who've tried to comment but have been unable to do so. I'm hoping this second post will rectify things!
I'm almost afraid to hit the 'publish post' button but here it goes..........
Thanks for the mention. Friday's Fences is really great fun - walls, fences, hedges, gates all get a look in, so don't worry too much about the definition of 'fence'! ;-) I love your selection for today.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm liking the allowance for variations on a theme you allude to, I have a feeling with me, that could run and run!
Deletelook, a comment <3
ReplyDeleteI love the viking fence, and I'd sell my Gran to be able to have one like it rather than the ugly rickety black number that came with the house we live in atm. You know, stand out a bit, be quirky, even make your own.
I actually consider making a low trellis in the same style if I ever manage to gather twigs suitable for the project. Saw it on pinterest somewhere, and if there's anything I love better than a pretty garden (not that I had one, really, but one does what one can) it's a pretty DIY garden.
They're beautiful aren't they? I posted another photo of a fence from West Stow over on my deviant art stock account if you want idea's - it's so simple yet so effective, I think. You'll probably have to cut and paste the link though;

as blogger is still playing silly buggers on me!
That last Gothic window really is spectacular. Makes you realise what plain times we live in, where everything is designed for simplicity.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it just! The more I wander around such places, the more I despair of how dreary and lack lustre most of our architecture has become. I very much doubt if any of it will be standing in a few hundred years time, which is probably for the best!
