Oh the Weather Outside is Frightful.......

....but the central heating's so delightful...

Well it isn't really; I'd much rather have a real fire glowing in the hearth but as we've not had the chimney swept for a couple of years we decided not to tempt fate and light it. My mum and dad did something similar a few years ago and it took three fire engines and an assortment of neighbours in an eclectic, and somewhat bewildering range of nightwear to put it out. But I digress...

As my part of the world is now under a good few inches of snow, I decided to go do some virtual shopping over on Etsy rather than venture out into the wilderness that is our local shopping centre, and here's what I've come up with - all rather self indulgent and based on the fantasy that I have oodles of money at my disposal to fritter away at whim....

Well, that's a nice chunk of this morning wasted, I suppose I really ought to go look at wrapping some of the real presents currently strewn across my living room floor.....wish me luck, I may be gone a while!

  1. We have the same tastes. I'll send all these imaginary gifts to you if you'll pretend to send them to me too.
I do have a fireplace, but it's gas and I really can't afford the gas bill. So I put some little trees with white lights on them on the hearth. It's not a fire, but just as cheery.
    Merry Christmas,

  3. Oh man, these are gorgeous. Now I'm going to have to go and check out some of these Etsy shops. I guess cleaning the flat can wait just a little bit longer.

  4. Aren't they all fabulous? It never ceases to amaze me how talented and creative some folk are.

@Cenya, It'd be my pleasure but seeing as we do seem to have so much in common won't we both be tempted to hold something back for ourselves? I love the idea of your tree with lights in the hearth, I might see if I can rig up something similar to fill the gap myself :-)

@Aaron-Paul, I've seen some of her art online previously but never realised she was on Etsy also, once we've got Christmas out of the way I'm hoping to buy a copy of that print - I know the exact place I'm going to hang it too!

@Lynn, Noooooooooo resist the urge, you'll waste entire afternoons flitting from one store to the other.........then again, if it's a choice between that and cleaning I know which option I'd go for!
