Sunday Whimsy

Another visual treat for your perusal. Karel Jaromir Erben was a 19th century Czech author who published a series of poems in 1853 based on traditional folklore. Kytice, is a visual adaption of these poems which was shown on Czech TV in 2000. There are a number of links over on youtube which should allow you to watch the sequence in it's entirety which I highly recommend of you don't like your fairytales to be too sugary. They're beautifully shot but in the best fairytale traditon, often have a hint of something darker lurking beneath the surface....

  2. For some reason this is the first time I've been able to connect to your blog (!?). Sometimes the Internet baffles me. I'm glad to finally have found it - it's lovely!

  3. I've just spent a bit of time looking around on your blog and I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. The Greenman your father made and gave to you is a beautiful memento.
