All My Own Work

My lovely other half is currently waiting for hip replacement surgery in February so rather than go out for a walk to blow off the Christmas cobwebs we've been having to go out for leisurely drives into the countryside instead. Yesterday we stumbled across this rather grand old place so I just had to nip out of the car and take a few photos. As the weather is particularly grey at the moment the photo itself wasn't that inspiring so I thought I'd try jazz it up a little in photoshop and try give it a vintage postcard feel.

It's rather nice editing my own photos in this manner, I don't have to credit anyone else and there's a sense of it being 'all my own work' which is rather lovely. Hopefully we might be able to get out and about a little more over the coming weeks and with spring just around the corner I hope I'll be able to produce more with a similar feel...

  1. This has a very nice atmosphere to it. Strong composition as well. Hope his surgery goes well.

  2. This has a real ageless look to it, it could be from almost any time couldn't it...

  3. Thank you Kim, I love your work so it means a lot that you've taken time out to comment on my own.

The timelessness of the setting was what first struck me about the place, I then tried to enhance it a little more in photoshop. Really glad you thought it worked in that way also Carrie :-)
