Dolbadarn Castle

Photo my own, texture courtesy of Shadowhouse Creations.

This small 13th century ruined slate castle, overlooks the landscape which I posted yesterday and is situated in Llanberis, North Wales.

  2. Very forboding. A good setting for a novel.

  3. I love that part of Wales and know it quite well from various visits over the years...
I love the atmosphere in both of these... I can just imagine characters from the Mabinogion striding through this landscape with all the weird and uncanny folk and strange darksome spirits they encounter there...

  4. It's a lovely part of the world and very much a gothic landscape which just lends itself to all kinds of myths and legends. I'd love to go back at some stage and take more photos..

  5. I was just going to write what an atmospheric place this castle was, but I got beaten to it. I visited this with my daughters en route to an Eistedfodd probably 10 years ago now . . . I love your enhanced photos.

  6. Thank you so much for your kind comments Bovey Belle, I was thinking I'd maybe overdone it a bit by posting a few of them in rapid succession last week but I got kind of hooked on transforming seemingly ordinary photos into something a little more atmospheric. I'm tempted to play with a few more now and see what I can come up with!
