My Latest Manipulation

Inspired by last weeks Sunday Whimsy. Roughly translated; a father goes to a blacksmith to have his horse shod. Whilst there he hears the voice of his dead daughter speaking to him....

Tell me how much, how much money
Blacksmith, to shoe my horse
It's five pounds, for you my prince
Only five pounds in total

I hear singing, I hear singing
The damned girl, I hear singing
To the rising moon, I hear the bird singing
My pretty, my so pretty girl in the night

With the first iron
My good father, he will call
With the first nail which you will hammer
He will call you my father

Who is this devil who calls me father
Tell me who is in the field?
It is your daughter, your dear daughter Jeanne
Your daughter, dead and buried

Tell me, my daughter, who damned you
There low on the moor and in the wheat
It is a man along the sea
Each day He came to find me

Take my body my heart and my dress
Under the moon they should be burned
To the tide you will throw my ashes
To the wind, to the wind you will throw them
