Sunday Whimsy

'Trollbound

Sung in Nordic Faroese by Eivør Pálsdóttir

Roughly translated;

Spellbound am I, am I
A wizard fastened me, fastened me,
Spellbound deep in my soul, in my soul,
In the heart burns a burning bonfire, burning bonfire

Spell bound am I, am I
A wizard fastens me, fastens me,
Spellbound in the heart root, in the heart root,
My eyes are fastened to where the wizard stood

Spell bound am I, am I
A wizard fastened me, fastened me,

  1. Whoa... I love it! Powerful stuff, feels like it goes way, way back to the Ancestors. That would be great to listen to live around a fire in the darkening twilight.

    P.s. Have you watched Beowulf and Grendel? Not the hollywood CG nonsense, but the one by Sturla Gunnarsson with Stellan Skarsgard and Gerard Butler... the Trolls in that are just brilliant, and its a fantasic adaptation of the original text... If you haven't seen it yet I think you'll love it :)

  2. It's brilliant in it's simplicity isn't it - I so know what you mean about listening to it around a fire as in the days of old Carrie. Yes I've seen Beowulf and Grendel, a while ago now, but I think I'm going to have to go hunt it down again now that you've reminded me of it!
